I am a detail-obsessed, aspiring costume designer with a passion for period, fantasy, and musical productions. I have a BFA in the Performing Arts Design Program (Emphasis Costume Design) from the University of Utah. I love meaningful narrative, thoughtful costume design, creative problem solving, organization, & attention to detail. As part of my coursework, I was the Costume Designer for the student productions The Importance of Being Earnest, Arcadia, and Steel Pier. In my time there, I gained practical experience with all aspects of costume designing a show. This includes rendering, meeting & collaborating with the creative production team, budgeting, shopping, communicating with drapers & shop staff, paperwork, fittings, & more. I also have about 4 years of experience working Wardrobe Crew backstage (mostly at Hale). This has given me experience in the practical implementation of theatrical costume; I’ve seen what works both backstage & onstage, and what inevitably gets sent back for modifications.As with every job or task I’ve taken on, I always feel strongly about doing things the right way, rather than the easy way. Whether it’s sweeping a floor or designing costumes for a massive theatrical production, I firmly believe in putting in 100% of one’s effort at doing the best job possible to whatever task is at hand.
