My name is Christa and work for NeuroRestorative as a Clinical Coordinator and traveling Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist. Through our program, we use a clinical model to increase our client's independent living in their own home. I was hired as a Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist in January 2016 and promoted to Clinical Coordinator in July 2020. Currently, I participate in both roles, as a Clinical Coordinator and Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist. As a Clinical Coordinator, I:-Supervises all clinical and administrative aspects of an individual’s services-Develops, documents, and implementation of an appropriate rehabilitation treatment program based on the individual’s needs and input-Routinely communicates with the person served and therapist to ensure satisfaction with services-Active participation in goal development, identifying effective compensating strategies and communicating this information to the team to ensure a unified clinical approach-Provide resources and referrals to outside specialists, and communicating with the individuals family or other support system, as appropriate to encourage their active participation in applying effective strategies -Supports self-advocacy for persons servedAs a Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist, I:-Provide one-to-one Cognitive Rehabilitation services in the participant’s home, community, school and/or workplace -Promote the development of functional, academic and/or vocational skills through utilization of therapeutic strategies -Work with the interdisciplinary team to help the person served to apply recommended strategies to everyday life-Facilitates cognitive, emotional, social, and physical progress through therapeutic intervention -Support healthy lifestyles for improved function, overall wellness, and brain health-Informs the supervisor of important changes in behavior and performance of activities -Documents progress on a daily and monthly basis I graduated from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, December, 2015. I participated in a research group that focused on coping, stress, and trauma. Our goal was to spread awareness of sexual assault on college campuses. We conducted studies to analyze methods in order to spread awareness around campus and to discover what factors influence bystander intervention. I participated in a research team who mentored 6th graders in middle school. I also have worked on a team to mentored children at the Quality of Life Center located in Erie for a full school year.
