Hi! My name is Christa Young and I am a senior English major at Winthrop University. I'm currently a writing tutor at my university's Writing Center where I help students brainstorm their essays and improve their writing process to become more efficient and skilled writers!This summer I'm a marketing Intern at Warren Publishing, a female-owned hybrid publishing company in Rock Hill. Here, I've been working alongside a team of Interns and the Marketing Director to ensure every author's book release runs smoothly. This includes writing and distributing press releases, calling bookstores to place physical copies in stores, keeping up with spreadsheets and emails, and any other media related tasks. I've been creative writing since I was in middle school. In high school, I wrote many different genres alongside other student writers at my arts boarding school. It wasn't until my sophomore year of college that I discovered my love for tutoring. I am incredibly interested in proofreading, critiques, line-editing, and book reviewing. I will be a great contributor to your company, project, or internship by not only efficiently fulfilling personal projects but also by being a resource for others on a team for proofreading and editing. I hope to gain experience in the publishing field so these interests can make a real-world impact on authors and readers. I anticipate graduating in December 2024.
