ResponsibilitiesMy specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:• Manage the course development process for new courses and adheres to academic standards. Ensures that quality standards and WGU’s vision and mission are reflected in all aspects of the student experience.• Develops and edit curricular materials including competency statements, learning objectives, and other relevant documentation.• Develop online learning environments, complete program curriculum mapping, identifies learning resources, and map learning resources to course/program objectives and competencies in collaboration with University partners.• Reviews /learning resources/assessments to ensure proper alignment to the intended objectives.• Provide instructional design consultation to program; assists in the development of contextually-rich, engaging, and objective-driven courses that focus on applicable real-world/workplace skills.• Apply evidence-based curriculum development strategies to the design of degree programs.• Utilize content knowledge, collaborate with subject-matter experts, and in-depth study of related resources to create courses that represent current, research-based ideas.• Design content for delivery in online environments and complete instructional design documentation to ensure quality and consistency.• Identify course content/components into Learning Management System portals.• Conceptualize instructionally sound, interactive, engaging web-based course components.• Conduct quality assurance reviews on courses and implement revisions..• Prepare course hand-off documentation and attends hand-off meetings with the mentors and Help Desk teams.• Attend course revision calls and create scope documents outlining confirmed revisions from post-course discussions.• Prepare course facilitators’ guides.• Ensure course development is completed on time and within budget, and meets standards of quality.
