The Associate Vice President of Institutional Relations is responsible for providing leadership and support in the development and implementation of the College’s Marketing Communications and Public Relations Plan which will include tactics and strategies that support the college mission, vision and strategic priorities. Responsible for directing all public relations, publications, including college print and electronic publications, public information, marketing communications, media relations, advertising and special event planning and promotion. The Associate Vice President serves as the official spokesperson for the college.

Responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Hospitality & Resort Management Center and building and maintaining community and business relationships. This includes assisting clients with the planning and execution of events and working with internal staff to ensure a clean, safe and happy environment. • Created and executed the first ever “High School Culinary Cook-off” event to raise awareness of our young culinary talent on the MS Gulf Coast. The event raised nearly $1000.00 for local high school culinary programs.• Exceeded first year goal of revenue for the HRM Center by $20,000.00 through creative partnerships and innovative thinking.• Created and executed the first ever “Holiday Hobnob” event that raised over $7,000.00 for scholarships at the JD Campus.

Developed innovative recruitment strategies to successfully attract volunteers for multiple PGA tour and LPGA tours. Managed 30 volunteer committees and coordinated with volunteer chairmen. Developed and managed all PR and marketing collateral, including newsletter, press releases, flyers, website pages, and media events. Hosted training and orientation programs and scheduled volunteer committees. Partnered with the United Way and Habitat for Humanity to build community connections. Managed $50K budget and reviewed grant application.Exceeded goal of gaining 1,000 volunteers by 10%.Created successful incentives to motivate and retain volunteers, including special events.

Director of Coast Young Professionals and Liaison for Leadership Gulf Coast Directed non-profit organization focused on developing young leaders. Created and managed events, including fundraisers and partnership events with other Chambers. Created strong rapport with civic and political leaders. Developed and supervised $50K budget. Managed organization's website and Facebook page. Created communications materials, including newsletter, weekly emails, press releases, and website content. Advised Board of Directors and CEO on communication strategies and long term strategic partnerships. Recruited and retained Chamber and Young Professional members.
