At S&P Global, I am a Subject Matter Expert for Security for the Market Intelligence Division. Working regularly with Senior Management to provide Security risk assessments to the Division leadership. I coordinated with DevOps teams to implement solutions to vulnerability assessment findings as a part of the Software Development Life Cycle. I've been involved with a variety of projects; implementing Role-Based security for administering customer-facing products, developing security frameworks for AWS and on-premises projects for compliance to Corporate Security Standards and Policies and participating in Internal and SSAE16 audit reviews of security practices.

As the Lead Systems Engineer, my job has been to blaze the trail in moving our systems to the Cloud. I have been involved with projects to move our company to Office 365, Box.com and Salesforce.com. We wrapped these three and many others into Okta for Identity Management and Single Sign-on. Securing these systems has been a constant focus . This has lead me to supporting systems like Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks and Dell Sonicwall), Cloud based security solutions like Skyhigh Networks for Shadow IT and Adallom for detailed monitoring of supported cloud systems. I also worked closely with my CIO to develop policies and controls for users. I also support more traditional systems like our Dell EqualLogic storage arrays, VMware vSphere systems, and Microsoft Windows Servers.

I worked as the Technical Lead for several premier customers including Frontier Communications and Carestream Health. My responsibilities included managing the daily activities for the Primary Support Engineers and our Partner resources in various technologies (Windows, VMware, UNIX, Storage and Networking) that remotely manage the environment. Additionally, I helped design and implemented technology solutions and lead projects for our customers based on their growing needs. This involved gathering requirements, researching solutions available, using resources both internal and external to Sun, developing and presenting solutions and ensuring a smooth implementation into the customer’s environment and Sun Remote Operations Management for on-going support.

As a Customer Delivery Engineer, my job was to develop solutions for customers brought into the Sun Remote Operations Management support structure. This involved evaluating servers and applications and designing monitoring solutions for customers to meet a Service Level Agreement. Once developed, I turned over the systems to the Primary Support Engineers and the Operations team. While they performed the daily work, I continually provided support to those engineers. I standardized the deployment of our monitoring tools on Windows servers by creating deployment scripts using Powershell. I also led projects involving Microsoft server and application product installations and upgrades. One project included deploying TriCerat’s Screwdriver product to simplify an existing Citrix printing solution. I was also the Subject Matter Expert within Sun Managed Operations for VMware technologies.

My primary responsibility was application support on Windows Servers but the entire team managed all aspects of day to day operations within the Active Directory environment. I also actively participated in a number of data center consolidations during my tenure. During this time, I was directly responsible for the Citrix environment and all applications on it. The initial environment in 2001 was numerous Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 servers spread across the country in various data centers. By the end of 2002, the entire Citrix environment that I designed was upgraded and consolidated into one data center and expanded upon over the next few years. As companies were acquired and data centers consolidated, this Citrix solution was the primary method for application deployment within Frontier to ensure rapid and simple integration of new companies.

My primary responsibilities was to lead Internal Support team and resolve internal network, server, and workstation problems for three offices in a mixed Novell Netware and Microsoft Windows Server environment with several Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 servers to share applications between these offices. I was also a part of a couple of long term customer project to upgrade Novell Netware and GroupWise systems.
