Can I confide in you? Well, you, & a cast of thousands…I’ve noticed something about LinkedIn. It makes people do weird stuff. Like, oversell themselves. To death! It’s ridiculous (“Was fighter pilot for 3 years before becoming Vice Pope. Then awarded Nobel prize for making lunch… blah, blah, blah.”).It’s too much.Then again, others get desperate (“Please, pleeese like me/hire me/buy me”).It gets up your nose, doesn't it?For fans of that, sorry. I’m not doing that.Best be real. *What I Do Well Without the Fluff (well a bit)*For me, being professional means connecting.I like to help people get their bearings, share ideas and in the process, do some good. Amongst over things, I’ve been a Teacher & a Rehab Provider; the latter in redeployment. As an encourager, helping people bring out their best was great. Even when it wasn’t."So," I hear you didn’t ask, “what’s with the landscape photography? How does that fit?"Simple. I love Nature too.A lot.Its beauty both inspires & refreshes, doing you good. So good the Japanese have long seen the benefits of 'Nature Bathing' for wellbeing. Now science reveals even SEEING natural images helps your health. So, living in Tasmania (an island famed for its wilderness) I realise Nature’s healing power and beauty have sparked something. In me. Not only do I find capturing moments in the wild fulfilling, the act of translating them into scenes people find uplifting is compelling. In this 1000 copy world, I find handmade printing methods somehow boost the viewer’s experience. So, applying the art of 19th Century cyanotypes, & ferric casein prints has become my photo workflow. Producing images of beauty through what I see. Without meaning to, I’ve turned my thoughts on wellbeing & encouraging into art. And while that might seem strange, if you live in an urban world where wilderness is far removed… you know how refreshing Nature can be.That’s why I’m building a body of work for people to enjoy. With scenes celebrating the beauty of Nature. To experience - wherever you happen to be.So, even if you're thinking "Hey, I'm not looking for landscapes. I'm just reading about you." You know what? That's fine. At least you know integrating Nature in your own approach (and for your own inspiration) is worthwhile.And, when my works are ready, I’ll be glad to let you know. Meantime, can I suggest you embrace Nature and Art in your own life and encourage your co-workers & clients to do the same? Maybe take walks in the park, & surround yourself with art.
