I have international experience living a semester abroad in Berlin, Germany through the IES Abroad: Language and Culture program. While attending the program, I took courses that centered on Germany's involvement in the European Union as well as Berlin's sustainability as a city. I participated in Model EU sessions representing Spain. Preparation for the mock sessions required extensive research regarding statistical information about Spain and their views on Brexit and Turkey's efforts to join the European Union. My research also included the impact of asylum seekers from the Middle East and North Africa on the Spanish culture and economy. During the time of my research, Spain had the 3rd highest unemployment rate in the EU due to the Euro Crisis. My research experience is not limited to my time in Germany. I also have experience researching historical findings pertaining to the unsolved crimes against African Americans from the Reconstruction period to the Early 20th Century.Along with my Bachelor of Arts in International Politics from Penn State University, I am seeking a career as a legislative aid. I am currently giving back to my community working for a local social services organization with a mandate to empower children, families and community so they ultimately make decisions as informed citizens.
