• Contribute to the field of automatic speech recognition by supporting the software development of acoustic and language models and other company needs by providing a wealth of curated language resources as a linguist.• Perform supervisorial duties, primarily overseeing a linguistic team of transcribers/editors and a team focused on Spanish translation and caption quality improvement. Other responsibilities include training interns and new hires, conducting meetings, managing schedules and budgets, and facilitating communication within the company. • Direct and carry out various projects and tasks to help improve the acoustic and language models in development as well as to meet current-day business enterprises of the company. These include creation of large amounts of language data, quality assurance and control, development of work protocol and training material, creation of reports and analyses, and verious other tasks.• Create detailed phonemic and word transcriptions of news broadcasts as part of a cutting-edge research project in automatic speech recognition, as well as performing all final quality analyses and checks of transcription work created by the linguistic team. • Curate extensive acoustic and language data corpora and databases, including material and resources used for language and acoustic model development, working in tandem with software developers.

• Contract translator for the Translation Department of the church.• Translates and content reviews a wide variety of official chruch material from English into Mayan Q'eqchi'.• Manages work flow of other Q'eqchi' translators based in California, Utah, and Guatemala.
