Provide maintenance services for commercial buildings around the Twin Cities metro area. All types of commercial building maintenance are provided by Elite Facility Services.

Based out of Majkhali, India, the Foundation for Contemplation of Nature works with international and Indian student groups, offering home-stay opportunities and curriculum related to sustainability, regional culture, social and political issues, food and agriculture and international development. Majkhali and Gunnison are counterparts in the Sister Cities International program. The Sister City connection was formalized in 2018 when representatives from Majkhali visited Gunnison. The same year, a group of Western students visited Majkhali. The two towns, on opposite sides of the world, now exchange students, stories, information and more from their respective small and isolated mountain towns.Upon meeting Majkhali's representatives in Gunnison, I arranged to live in Majkhali for three months and contribute to the Foundation for Contemplation of Nature in whatever capacity possible. The organization was hired to perform a third-party evaluation of the organization Navdayna and editing the final document was part of my work. I also helped with communication through email and social media as well as other small administrative tasks.

GV HEAT (Gunnison Valley Home Energy Advancement is an income qualified energy efficiency and weatherization program. There are four different opportunities for Gunnison County residents through GV HEAT and its partners:1. Colorado Affordable Residential Energy program (CARE) through Energy Outreach Colorado offers those making under 80% Area Median Income a home energy assessment and up to $3,000 in retrofits with potential for more through rebates. 2. Weatherization Assistance Program through Housing Resources of Western Colorado offers residents below 200% of the federal poverty level a home energy assessment and up to $4,000 in retrofits. 3. Energy Smart Colorado offers all residents subsidized home energy assessments and low-interest loans for retrofits and upgrades.4. USDA 504 Home Repair program offers to home owners over 62 years of age making less than $25,200 per year a home improvement grant up to $7,500 and 1% interest 20-year loans up to $20,000.I designed and implemented GV HEAT’s community outreach campaign, managed partnerships with sponsors, gathered and reported data, and coordinated work between assessors, contractors and households.

Between fall 2016 and winter 2019, I was the program manager at Coldharbour Institute for a youth development and sustainability education program called SEED (Sustainability Education Equity and Diversity). We worked to improve sustainability education and credential completion for low-income families. I managed 6-10 undergraduate employees, wrote and managed grants and a budget of $70,000 per year. I managed relations with community partners, including Gunnison High School, Hispanic Affairs Project, Mountain Roots, Western Colorado University and more. Together, with my student workers, we conducted community projects including a sustainable catering operation, a gardening program, a community compost service, a K-8 environmental education program, and a variety of community events. The K-8 program culminated in a summer youth camp at Coldharbour Ranch. In addition, I coordinated volunteer efforts at Coldharbour Institute Ranch.My work with Coldharbour Institute started as an AmeriCorps VISTA position. VISTA, standing for Volunteer In Service To America, is like a domestic version of PeaceCorps where participants volunteer in disadvantages communities in rural areas across the US. I believe in the philosophy of the program and am proud to have served.

Straw and Timber Craftsmen builds homes in the Gunnison Valley using straw bale insulated homes and other sustainable building techniques. I worked for the company to improve my skills as a carpenter and builder. The team was small (three of us) and I was able to work in an apprentice-like capacity.

Menogyn's mission is to provide transformational experiences in wilderness settings. In the summers between 2011 and 2014, I guided canoeing, backpacking and rock climbing trips for youth ages 12 to 19. I had full responsibility (i.e., all trips are “solo-guided”) for the planning and implementation of trips varying in length from 8 to 50 days. In 2014, I guided 5 teens on 50-day river trip in Nunavut, Canada. In summer 2013 I led 6 teens on 32-day river trip in Ontario, Canada. I often worked with at-risk youth.In the winter of 2014-15 I managed onsite the winter program and was responsible for group facilitation, trip planning, cooking, menu planning, and food ordering. I was also the dog handler for mushing program. In addition to the hard skills of wilderness travel, I developed strategies to facilitate personal reflection and growth and for the prevention and mitigation of problems in the field.
