I am an entrepreneurial public sector leader that has spent over two and a half decades leading efforts to build and create strong communities. I’ve worked in the financial, energy, transportation, and security sectors in multiple countries including economic development in the Kingdom of Jordan; investment banking in global oil and gas; modeling energy efficiency and risk management for U.S. government agencies; and implementing statewide financial systems. At the City of Tallahassee, I have served as the Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the City's $1.2Bn budget and preparation of ACFR statements resulting in the first clean financial audit in almost 20 years. Under my management, the City's Grants Management office and legislative efforts resulted in over $300M in grants - more funds than property taxes collected over the same period. I currently lead over 350 staff responsible for the City's permitting, building inspection, housing, human services, code enforcement, community resilience, sustainability, public transit and technology efforts. I often serve as a graduate guest lecturer on the topic of change management and local government, and speaker on innovative trends and emerging tech in the public sector.
