Over the past twenty-two years, this belief has served me well in the development of creative lessons designed to increase Social Studies proficiency while incorporating cross-curricular concepts. Combining Social Studies content with skills learned in other content areas has allowed me to create a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment, maintained through a variety of formative, summative, and authentic assessments and holding students to the highest of expectations.The advancement of technology has made our world smaller and more interconnected. By using these advancements in my classroom, I have provided my students the ability to unleash their critical thinking processes. My online web presence and ever-expanding use of educational technology have kept my teaching practices on the cutting edge, designed to guide my students in the development of their sense of citizenship while collaborating with peers located around the globe.I enjoy working in an environment that encourages student enrichment opportunities both within and outside the classroom. I have taken an active role in the academic and athletic pursuits of my students through my involvement in extracurricular activities.
