I maintain a diverse legal practice representing businesses and individuals in litigation, commercial leasing, and other business matters. I am licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in North Carolina and South Carolina, and have also litigated cases in the North Carolina Business Court. On the litigation side, I handle cases involving: Breach of contract, Negligence, Products liability, Construction defect, Breach of warranty, Unfair trade practices, and Employment disputes.I also represent and advise clients in alternative dispute resolution (mediation and arbitration), administrative and contested case proceedings, and appeals, and I have obtained several reported appellate decisions establishing new precedent under North Carolina law.On the corporate side, I counsel clients in commercial leasing matters, contract drafting and negotiation, entity formation/restructuring, and fundraising. Working with clients in the food, beverage, and hospitality industry is particularly enjoyable to me. I represent several local craft breweries and am well-versed in alcoholic beverage law. I serve as an advisory board member and lead instructor for the UNC-Charlotte Craft Beer Business Essentials Certificate program (Legal Bootcamp Class), and have taught continuing legal education seminars on the laws and regulations affecting alcoholic beverage manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. I was named a “Leader in the Law” by North Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly Magazine in 2017, and have received "Rising Star" and "Young Gun" designations from North Carolina Super Lawyers Magazine and Business North Carolina Magazine, respectively.
