I got to try my 3D skills with a new office with Sparks, taking all that I had learned at Kenwood to apply to a new environment and workflow. As before, I worked in SketchUp, and as before I wasn't content to settle there. In my short time designing experiential events, I also developed a workflow that took my work from SketchUp and moved it into Unreal Engine 4 to create high-res fly through videos that rendered in a fraction of the time that they would in Arnold or V-Ray. I created a how-to for this workflow that Sparks adopted into their permanent reference library for employees in all of their office locations to have access to.

This job pivoted my entire career path into 3D modeling. I worked as part of a small in-house team to create experiential marketing events for our clients, primarily working in SketchUp. I dug in deep to expand my skillset, though, finding ways to integrate higher-end and specialized programs like Modo, Maya, and Unity into my workflow. I even got to experiment with VR and created a booth in Unity that could be walked around; the result was the world's most boring walking simulator, but it encouraged our client to up their spend by $125k.

Much like my time at GayGamer, writing for Towleroad taught me to apply a critical and analytical eye to news stories that I came across or were assigned. Whereas GayGamer was narrowly focused on video games, Towleroad allowed me to branch out more into social and political issues that I would summarize, fact-check, and provide cross-references to for our readers. A particular high moment was when I published a story of a morning show host being caught in puritanical hypocrisy that encouraged radio personality and activist Michelangelo Signorile to follow me on Twitter.

A labor of love and pure volunteer work, writing for GayGamer let me live out my video game journalistic aspirations. This was where I learned to keep a close eye on industry developments and apply critical analyses and interpretations through an LGBT lens to stories I came across. Getting to attend E3 several years in a row was something college-me would never have dreamed of getting to do, and to this day remains some of my fondest memories.

Returning to familiar territory working as an office admin, I was able to give back to the Chorus professionally after having been an active singer for two years. I flexed my administrative skills in new ways that a community arts organization demanded that were not used as much in a small DOC office. In addition to managing the office and being a point of contact for the public, I was also the point of contact for the over 300 singing members of the organization who would need help with challenges such as transit, costuming, and managing payments for various necessary costs.

Expanding on my copywriting experience from Pereira O'Dell, Trion brought me on to primarily write copy for the marketing materials for their online game "RIFT." I also got to work on materials for their in-development game "End of Nations" and had a lot of fun developing the personalities and voices for the two game faction mascots. Sadly, the game got shelved, but it was a great experience all the same.
