Training for teachers in didactic and learning and teaching with new media.(b) Modularisation: Development of university-wide accepted standards for modular curricula with the goal of international accrediation. Training of teachers in the development of modular curricula, modules and didactic designs. Facilitating and coordinating the implementation of modular curricula in all masters and bachelor programmes.Additional supporting measures: Development of knowledge management for curricula development: Development of a university-wide intranet for academic personnel; Design of guidelines and templates and definition of required standards and procedures for modularisation and e-learning; Training of personnel. Initiation of Local Government ICT Network: Conceptional design, development and implementation of a web-portal for knowledge exchange between south african municipalities in regard to information and communication technologies (http://lgict.org.za., >700 members, based on Drupal); Realization of ConnectIT Event for South African Municipalities.Technical Concept and Development of Community of Practices Portal within the Local Economic Development Network Website (http://led.co.za) for the Industrial Development Cooperation with the purpose of supporting exchange of knowledge between south african development agencies. The communities of practice portal is very active today and new organizations are joining (e.g. ERLN - Economics Regions Learning Networks).

Regional Advisor for Knowledge Management and Communications for the German Development Service (DED) southern and eastern Africa: facilitating organizational learning, evaluation of learning experiences (Lessons Learnt workshops in different projects), development of web based knowledge sharing networks, implementation of strategic project planning, reporting, information management, debriefing, intranet. Regular business trips to countries in Africa: Lesotho, Namibia, Botswana, Sambia, Malawi, Mozambik, Tansania, Cameroon.Supporting the Cameroon Ministry of Health in establishing a virtual library and knowledge management system in the field of health care: Development of concepts, training of IT-personnel, technical implementation (http://www.minsante-cdnss.cm).Re-Launch of South African Local Economic Development Network (http://led.co.za, today > 5000 users, > 15,000 visitors or > 35,000 page views per month): Network for knowledge exchange for local economic development. Conceptual design, information architecture, technical implementation.Project management of the public relations activities and press spokesman (since 01/2010) for the former DED South Africa in cooperation with the German Embassy in the context of the World Cup 2010 in South Africa: Management of a public relations team of 4 staff members; Overseeing the development of public relations materials (image film, newsletter, project fact sheets, etc.); Organization and logistics of field visits, etc.
