Christie Shin boasts a distinguished three-decade career as an educator, creative consultant, and design director, specializing in branding, UX/UI design, digital product design, and typography. Currently a full professor at SUNY FIT, she holds key roles, including Curriculum Committee Chair and Co-coordinator of the Creative Technology & Design subject area. Her contributions have earned her the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities for the 2023-2024 academic year, as well as the 2017 Faculty Excellence Award.Shin's academic credentials are marked by significant engagements at the Pratt Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, a Master of Science in Communication Design with a concentration in Digital Design, and a Master of Fine Arts in Digital Product Design.In 2013, Shin became Partner and Design Director at Cynda Media Lab, collaborating with distinguished clients and amassing over 60 national and international design awards. In 2024, she extended her influence by launching two initiatives: the Design Portfolio Center, which emphasizes professional readiness for designers, and co-founding DSGN BY D., a visionary eco-conscious lifestyle brand.Globally recognized, Shin delivers compelling lectures and presents her work at conferences and esteemed art schools such as the Rhode Island School of Design and Cornell University.
