I have been actively involved with managing dental practices for the past 12 years. Having managed as many as seven dental practices concurrently at one point, I have developed a clear understanding of the numerous and varied aspects in the field of dentistry, from both the clinical and business perspectives. My current niche is the implementation of the protocols of medical billing into practices, both general and specialty offices.I attended my first medical billing course in June 2010 and have been committed to mastering the subject ever since. Working in the medical billing field under the guidance of Dr. Olya Zahrebelny, I have been trained by the best and most respected practice management and medical billing consultants in the United States.My understanding of surgical procedures, as well as appliance and prosthetic treatment, is a direct result of assisting (chairside) my husband, Dr. Bruce Fink, in his implant and prosthetic surgical center, where he also provides treatment for complex TMD and OSA issues. This has given me a unique perspective so that I am able to relate to patients and guide them through every step of their treatment, helping them understand the procedures they will be undergoing, as well as coordinating with the Doctor the preparation of documentation necessary to prove "medical necessity" under the strict criteria of both commercial and government programs. I have successfully billed, and been paid for, more than $2.3M worth of medical claims and, through The Z Group, trained more than 50 offices on setting up the protocols needed for successful medical billing, followed by providing support services in the initial stages of implementation of the processes so that practices can then proceed on their own.
