Child Care Aware® of Kansas is the administrator for the Child Care Resource and Referral network in Kansas. We ensure that families have access to affordable, high-quality child care, lead programs that improve the quality of care children receive, and advocate for positive changes that impact the lives of children and families. As director, I led a team throughout Kansas who implemented quality improvement programs so children have safe, nurturing and healthy environments; families can work without worrying about the well-being of their child; child care providers feel encouraged and supported; and communities value the backbone support we provide to them when solving complexities. Cultivating partnerships through collective impact is the key to this success. I strive to create a motivational and inspiring environment where staff have an entrepreneurial spirit and can drive our mission forward. Sure there are grants to write, data to analyze, trends to observe, problems to solve, ideas to implement, presentations to give, outcomes to meet, and budgets to forecast and balance. Yet knowing collectively, we make a difference so children, families and communities thrive....that is how I thrive!

• Designed statewide professional development curricula for Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies. • Skilled presenter and facilitator with success targeting large audiences presenting nationally. • Event and professional development planning. • Editor for the Core Competencies for Early Learning and Youth Development Professionals, Kansas and Missouri. • Developed Teaching Students to Empower Families: A Curriculum Based on the Strengthening Families™ Framework (SFF). Focused on an approach to disseminate the SFF information to practitioners through existing college courses.

Provided vision and leadership for up to 20 child care centers in Missouri and Kansas serving approximately 375 employees and 1,800 children.  P&L responsibilities up to $19M. Provided leadership and strategic direction for operational systems and improvements to increase efficiency, increase profitability, implement educational programs including enrollment, education, and accreditation. Recruited high quality leaders resulting in the turn-around of an underdeveloped market while improving regulatory compliance of a multi-site/state operation. Created and implemented regional standards to improve the quality of care children received. Strategies were adopted company-wide.  Provided an exceptional educational learning environment that exceeded customer averages based on a Gallop Poll survey.  Appointed as a member of the Kansas Child Care Licensing Improvement Team. Launched special projects regional and companywide: sales and leadership training, policy and procedure development, regional standards, new employee training, and crisis avoidance planning. Supported company re-alignment through re-branding project in 2007.  Appointed as company new employee trainer for managers and district managers, 2009. Leadership Award for Region 7, 2007. Elite District Manager Award, 2007.

 Selected to optimize efficiencies by centralizing the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for 120 locations in nine states. Successfully participated in the development, organization, and re-structure of the CACFP program. Instrumental in recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing key members of the new department. Developed and implemented training to support field knowledge and compliance.Audited centers to ensure legal, federal and state compliance. Responsible for completing annual contracts.

Directed Youth and Family services including 13 not-for-profit before and after school programs, preschool programs, teen programs and child watch. Supported strategies for new program development, endowment, volunteer recruitment and fundraising.
