Prior to the layoff, contributed to the Core functionality of the realtime image capture and control system running on Invidia Jetson Xavier/Orin compute engines. Optimized object detection functions using OpenCV image processing (C++). Served as a resource to other team members in code reviews, git branching strategies, and tooling in VSCode (remote debugging, CMake). Lead a team to develop driver software for new hardware including cameras, triggers, focus motors, serial encoders, and motor controllers (C++). Worked cross functionally with production and airborne operations teams to triage and fix problems in the field and manufacturing, including performance measurements and monitoring scripts (C++, Rust). Conspired with management to further define job titles and roles, participate in the agile process of feature development and code releases, and worked at all levels to achieve business goals.

Prior to the big layoff, I worked with some great people to build "drone survey as a service", specifically for the oil and gas market around compliance. It was really interesting with three different compute platforms, aviation, embedded systems, image processing, machine learning, etc. It checked a lot of boxes for me personally. And... helped to reduce greenhouse gas emissions! That felt good.

Responsible for the micro policy compiler. In this role, I work with the chief technology and science officers to support existing and new processor security architectures. In addition, I collaborate with the software architect to create our toolchain. Primary development is in Haskell where I am currently exploring a new algorithm that will drastically reduce area and power of our system on a chip. Dover Microsystems has closed its doors.

These guys are fun to work with - making a great website for planning and sharing; and a great app for navigating and recording your ride. They also motivated me to ride more! I shared ownership of the iOS app for RWGPS and did everything from the UI down to the metal, collaborated with a first-rate team of developers, designers, QA, and support people that love their work and product. My primary focus was on the recording and navigation subsystems, which make heavy use of GPS, network, mapping, and multi-threading. ObjectiveC and Swift. Definitely one of the best places I have ever worked; many thanks to the founders and great people there. See you on the trails!

(Acquired by UFT)As CTO and principle architect, the next generation of automatic document capture, using mobile devices, was developed and deployed across thousands of users. By using the device's video camera and other sensors, we were able to deliver a "point and capture" framework that reduces bank check submission errors to < 1%. For me, it's been super fun because it combines hand-held devices with video image processing and improves the experience for many people. iParse was acquired by UFT in July of 2017 and I continue as a consultant there for at least 6 months. OpenCV, C/C++, JNI, Java.

Supported large customers, write and presented talks at RICON and internal training sessions; and learned a ton about distributed systems at scale. Writing large systems in Erlang is a pure joy once you figure out how to debug them in production!

Enhanced and maintained a high performance Java implementation of a publish/subscribe messaging system. The library was used for low latency messaging in the electronic financial trading industry. Designed and implemented the next generation pub/sub library written in C with extended features and flexibility.

As a tech. lead, I had the good fortune to collaborate with many talented and mature engineers - most of them at the top of their careers. Together, we developed first-class software tools for programming the highly successful Massively Parallel Processor Array designed by Ambric engineers. My role enabled me to deliver a robust and integrated compiler for the custom processors on the MMPA device, supporting the ability to debug with full symbolic information the optimized code. In addition, I was the lead designer and developer of Ambric's Performance Analysis tools that allowed customers to visualize the multi-processor behavior live on the running device.

As co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, I lead the development of our technology, including software, patents, and inventions. This was one of the greatest joys of my career, to work with so many wonderful people and create something of value while learning about venture startups under the leadership of a bright and compassionate CEO, Alistair Williamson.

As a creative and innovative engineer at Tektronix, I was able to deliver several products in the Test and Measurement group. This included the real-time measurement software in the SONET Telecommunications Tester, and two Logic Analyzers. Research in the Advanced Development Group also lead directly to patents and products in the Television and Networking groups.
