Fellow of the 2021-2023 cohort of the MARC U*STAR Program at FIU. NIH-funded fellowship program for students in underrepresented groups to stimulate involvement in research careers in the biomedical field. Fellows complete a two-year program under faculty mentorship to perform biomedical research and complete a thesis by the end of the program, as well as participate in research conferences and events to prepare for graduate school.

Undergraduate research assistant under the mentorship of Dr. Timothy Allen and Dr. Tatiana Viena at the AllenLab, researching neural circuits that connect the medial prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and nucleus reuniens and their role in memory and behavior.

Research program held for undergraduate students to participate in highly rigorous research at a host laboratory at MIT for the summer. Activities include full-time research at selected host laboratory, networking with other MIT faculty, participating in weekly academic seminars and MSRP-Bio meetings, and presenting results of summer research at final. Specifically, I was invited to work at the laboratory of Dr. Fan Wang in a OCD/Tourette's disease model research project to identify neurons in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN) that express Sapap3, which is commonly disrupted in OCD/Tourette phenotypes, and use chemogenetic techniques to alter the activity of these Sapap3 neurons identified in the circuit to attempt to elicit OCD/Tourette’s behaviors.

Development of early-childhood interventions for at-risk children in order to improve school-readiness and literacy. Research Assistant committed to 10 hours per week to daily tasks, data analysis, and editing, such as DPICS transcribing and coding.

Worked part-time as a secretary and assistant for Encore Academy, a music school in Miami. Assisted in designing and implementing new programs and events for the academy. Skilled in creative design for flyers and social media postings, as well as processing payments for classes and competitions

Understanding the impact of drug usage on adolescent brains in their development. Research volunteer for two semesters participating in visits conducted by other RA’s with participants in the study. Consistently volunteered 10 hours per week and assisted with any tasks presented, such as assisting in phone calls to schools or participants.
