Responsible for Gothenburg’s second largest trade fair and congress facility, which is a part of the Nordic Choice Hotels chain. A design hotel with 259 rooms, restaurant, bar, conference rooms, and an event hall of 3,000 sqm for i.e., fairs, events, congresses, and banquets.Initially, my assignment was solely about the growth and development of the business and organisation, as well as planning an extensive renovation. When the pandemic hit and we lost 85% of turnover, the restructuring was total and the focus shifted to cutting costs and laying off more than 80% of our talented and loyal employees. A tough and instructive period in my life and career.

The hotel is part of the Nordic Choice Hotels chain, and is a design hotel with 540 rooms, restaurants, bars, conference rooms, a rooftop pool and a spa. As the Hotel Manager, I was responsible for Welcome Office & Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Maintenance & IT, Security, Meeting & Event, Inhouse Sales & Reservations, and Sales Managers. From the pre-opening I was part of the management team and together we built the business from the ground up; the organization, the culture, the sales, the concepts, etc. It was the start of an exciting journey, where we delivered fantastic results and focused on continuous improvement and refinement with a strong team driven by development, growth and collaboration.
