As a research assistant, I compose summaries of laws relating to victim services, rights, and protections to eventually compile an accessible external database for victims of violent crimes. The position is supporting a research project with the Department of Criminology, Law, and Justice at UIC. The goal of the research is to survey and understand violent crime victim services and the criminalization of survivors of violence.

As a legal assistant I assist attorneys and paralegals in filing with Cook County courts, drafting legal documents, organizing case files, and assisting clients. I complete basic clerical work such as organize files, scanning court documents, financial management, and office cleaning. Additionally, this opportunity has allowed me to practice communicating in a timely and professional manner with attorneys, clients, and other support staff

As a shift supervisor, I fostered and managed a team-focused environment to create the best experience for customers and partners and acted as a support and leader for other baristas.

As an undergraduate intern with Take Back the Halls, I worked alongside a group of other undergraduates, a graduate assistant, and one of the founders of the organization. We facilitated a weekly after school group and a section of a first year gym class at a Chicago Public Schools high school. The curriculum centered around violence prevention, sexual and domestic violence, systems of oppression, teen dating violence, healthy relationships, liberation, and activism. My role as an intern was to assist in the facilitation of discussion, lead activities, and lift the voices of our students alongside the rest of the program. The internships coincided with a weekly course where we studied feminist and activists theory and writing.

As a Chicago Quarter Mentor I acted as a peer mentor and teaching assistant to a class of about 30 first year students. The class I participated in was Race, Power, and Politics in Chicago, I joined students every week in class and on field trips. I also planned and led the 'Common Hour' portion of the class every week which acted as an introductory course to DePaul and the university experience.
