I am an ORISE Postdoctoral Fellow at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the Office of Research and Development (ORD). My current research focus is lead in drinking water. My main area of interest is drinking water quality. My dissertation work revolved around calcium carbonate precipitation (scaling) within the hot water systems. Throughout my graduate career I worked on projects involving corrosion control and lead in drinking water. During the last three years of my PhD I was the project manager for the Water Quality Research Foundation Emerging Technology Benchmarking Study. This role allowed me to gain experience working with industry professionals. One of my main responsibilities within this role was to prepare and present updates at various interval throughout the project to members of the task force. After having time to review the reports, I would meet with the task force to address questions and comments they had, providing more details and including their feedback in follow-ups on the project.
