Daily routine would be to handle inquiries (bunker demand) from our customers for various ports. And to react to their inquiries with the best offer to secure the business. Liaising with suppliers from different countries is a challenge as there are other competitors fighting to get the best offer from the same supplier and to secure with a reasonable margin. Manage a team of 3 traders and 2 administrative support staff. Play an active role to train and guide new staff in the department. Support the traders on the marketing strategies that was laid out. Led the team to achieve a target of over 100kt trading volume every month in 2016.Responsible for : • To collect market information, ie refinery condition, barging situation, crude oil price, local market pricing to inform to HQ for decision making as well as create best position to offer to customer.• Developing new customers for the company.• To oversee the daily delivery operation, and ensure there are no delivery issues like barge delays or disputes.• To settle dispute with vessel’s owners and handle claims with suppliers.• Establish and maintain good rapport with suppliers in order to get lowest cost for each nomination.• Maintain good relationship with customers in order to get more business as well as referrals.•Source and identify buyer/seller for exwharf requirement.•Research, identify and develop new areas of expansion for the business.•Plan and strategise for term tender contracts to maximise profit.• To check and approve invoicing for customer.• To monitor payment receipt and payment to suppliers.• To compile monthly reports for management reporting.• To generate profit and loss statement for each month.
