Christina has over 24 years of experience in advocacy on issues ranging from nuclear nonproliferation to mental health and suicide prevention. Her best friend died by suicide in 2014, which led her down her path of self-discovery. After relocating from Washington, D.C., to Sun Valley, Idaho, a year later, she was hired to revive a local mental health nonprofit, quadrupling programs and fundraising efforts. In 2019, she joined Stewart Wilder as co-chair of the Idaho Suicide Prevention Action Collective (ISPAC), which oversees the state’s prevention plan and five working groups. In the fall of 2020, Christina moved to Boise to be the Suicide Prevention Coordinator at the Idaho National Guard (IDNG) and stepped into the role of board president of NAMI Idaho. As Board President of NAMI Idaho, Christina has been instrumental in significant increases in grant funding from various foundations, which has accelerated the organization’s growth in hiring staff responsible for increasing NAMI Idaho’s program offering of support groups, education classes, and advocacy outreach throughout the state, especially in rural Idaho and those most affected by the pandemic. Christina was nominated as board chair for the Chamber of Commerce in Wood River Valley, Empower Idaho Mental Health Month Advocate Award (PHD5-2020), Idaho Business Journal's 40 under 40 (2020) & Woman of the Year (2022). In 2024, Christina’s role in the IDNG evolved into focusing on primary, upstream prevention in the Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce as a Prevention Specialist. In this role, she works with her team in the Service Member & Family Service (J9) to address risk factors while advising on protective factors to embed at the unit level to address readiness & retention. Christina is a master trainer in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), as well as a trainer in SafeTALK and Question, Persuade & Refer (QPR). Christina loves to travel to improve her birdwatching, gardening, skiing, hiking, and scuba diving hobbies. She loves sharing about “total health” and the bio-individuality we all embody to help us all thrive & strive.
