At Workday, I was responsible for the strategic sourcing for meetings and events. The strategic sourcing team developed and drove regional and global strategies to improve Workday’s position in the market, negotiated savings, and managed the category for each business unit. I was responsible for managing the sourcing and supplier management under the meetings and events category, performing key analyses in support of sourcing projects and the global travel program, and assisting on special travel and sourcing operational projects.

At Extra Space Storage, I managed the strategy for the company's strategic national events, and developed the company's first events and meetings program. With over 60 meetings annually, I managed the sourcing process and executed on all contracts. I was responsible for event management including production, logistics management, technology development, and registration management. More specifically, I curated the overall event design, communication strategy, audio-visual production, script writing, logistics, budgeting, negotiation, and client services. In addition, I oversaw the corporate travel department and led the team through the company's first RFP process for a national travel management company in over ten years saving 20% on fees and services.

At DrivingSales, I developed the Marcom strategy for our key national and international events. I collaborated with the sales and media teams to renew sponsors and recruited new sponsors. I coordinated and executed strategic efforts for the events promotion through social media, digital display, email marketing, and webinars.I directed the events team through the pre-event planning meetings and post-event correspondence, follow-up and debrief. I was responsible for the event budgets, all event logistics including vendor relations and programming, as well as, marketing event-related content for promotional materials including the web and social media applications.

As the director of event marketing, I created and implemented strategic plans for all major organizational events. I was responsible for working with the resource development department to renew sponsors and recruit new sponsors. I provided support for the events promotion through social media and worked together with the digital marketing director to execute strategy. I developed and executed organizational special events; prepared annual calendar; conducted event project planning meetings and handled all post-event correspondence, follow-up and debrief; planned, coordinated, and managed event budgets, sponsorships, marketing, RSVP system, program, PowerPoint presentations; wrote scripts and other event-related content for promotional materials including web and social media applications; coordinated and oversaw all event logistics.I led established volunteer committees and develops new opportunities to engage volunteers with event planning; recruited and managed intern to assist in supporting event planning responsibilities.I prepared sponsorship proposals with the team to create consistent recognition opportunities for various sponsorship levels; ensured sponsor recognition materials produced and displayed according to the proposal; pitched potential sponsors as appropriate and in coordination.I assisted with writing content for event materials including; invitations, brochures, signage, event scripts, and other event-related communications. I developed strategies to promote events through Facebook, Twitter, Blog, and other online media outlets.

For over a year, I coordinated the strategic plan for the major events and programs at the Salt Lake Chamber. I managed the marketing and event coordination for the monthly networking event, Business After Hours, which showcased members' each month and highlighted a different restaurant or caterer. I managed the volunteer committee who assisted in the day-of logistics to ensure attendees received the best experience. Over the course of the year, we increased registration by 15% from the previous year.Prior to working on the events team, I was the executive assistant to the President and CEO, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive VP/General Counsel. I was able to work with the PR team on major accounts such as the Deer Valley Music Festival and the Department of Health. I put together press kits for upcoming events and I was able to write various news releases for the accounts and new hires within Love Communications. I also worked with Aaron Evans on the Disney Account to preview new movies before they were released to the public. I had to research businesses that would align with the movie and pass out the complimentary tickets to give away to "The Greatest Game Ever Played." I would have to help the night of the preview at the theatre to follow the instructions from Disney and make sure there wasn't any illegal taping of the preview.
