I work as a clinical psychologist with a specialized interest in helping family systems work together to have the best outcomes for caregivers, teens, and children. To this end, I conduct educational and psychological assessments with recommendations for intervention. I also provide therapy services to individuals and families. Finally, I co-facilitate parenting groups to support caregivers' as families adapt to the changes that youth experience as they transition through middle school and adolescence.

I work with two significant initiatives at the Center for Family Research.1. Program Evaluator - Managing the evaluation of an intervention to support home visiting programs intended to improve the developmental context for children ages 0-5. Existing home visiting programs already do a great deal to support families. My role is to systematically implement and evaluate the effort to strengthen those outcomes. In this role, I also direct the evaluation of a Georgia Department of Public Health statewide central intake system (also known as the Great Start Georgia Information and Referral Center) developed to more efficiently connect families across the state to support services.2. Dissemination Coordinator - Directing efforts to disseminate the Strong African American Families (SAAF) program to agencies across the country. This involves also developing and monitoring the training program used to prepare agency employees for successfully implementing SAAF with families in their communities.Both of these roles are extremely rewarding and a necessary part of the effort to support effective community programming for families. This is particularly true for communities that traditionally have fewer programmatic resources.
