As an editor on the East Desk of The Associated Press, I work with reporters and editors to ensure we are publishing some of the top journalism in the world for 10 states in our region. As weekend supervisor, I work with reporters on breaking news and manage the region's weekend report and I edit weekend enterprise content. Reporting and writing is always part of the job and I frequently work out of our Philadelphia office as a breaking news reporter for Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Since September, I have been a founding member of the new East Desk of The Associated Press after its move to New York City. I have been tasked with running the daily news report, working on breaking news, training four new editors, four news associates and running the internship program, in addition to my daily duties as an editor and reporter. I'm also proud to be an editing fellow for the AP's Top Stories desk. I assist on a team of top editors who work on the biggest news stories of the day, whether it be a hurricane bearing down on the Caribbean, protests in Hong Kong, the opioid epidemic and more. Working closely with my editing mentor, I take on high-profile pieces from my region and make sure they are clear to a worldwide audience.

I've been a contributing writer to South Jersey Magazine and its sister publications for several years, producing articles on a wide range of topics such as construction, business, education, cybersecurity and more.

Greater Philadelphia Area

As city editor of Metro Philadelphia, I worked with a team of city desk reporters and freelance writers and photographers to create the front page and local news section of Metro Philadelphia, the most read newspaper in Philadelphia. I held daily news meetings and our team created nearly a dozen stories a day for Metro and its website. I worked closely with our layout editors on the final product design. Some of my own articles were among the most read on Metro's website, ranging from gay marriage becoming the law of the land to an interview with Chase and Jen Utley.

Cinnaminson, Nj

At Patch, I ran a daily news website covering towns like Cinnaminson, Palmyra, Riverton, Delran and more in southern New Jersey. Cinnaminson Patch was one of the most-read Patch sites in the Greater Philadelphia region, with the highest engagement numbers. I managed a team of staff and freelance reporters, photographers and editors. I wrote up to 15 stories per week, shot photos, video and managed social media. Top stories included: Breaking a piece on how Cinnaminson Sewerage Authority members were part of a wide-ranging scheme costing taxpayers more than $100,000; an interim police chief said township committee forced him to resign by taking away his benefits; a look into how the police department spends money on overtime.
