Profile bio

About Christina Paciolla

With more than 15 years as a professional journalist, I have extensive experience in: reporting, editing, news management and supervision, magazine and features writing, social media, digital storytelling, presentation, layout and design, and more. Currently, I work for The Associated Press as the state news editor for New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio, managing 17 reporters, and collaborating with beat team editors and our photo and video folks on breaking, spot and enterprise news. A highlight of this has been directing Pennsylvania's coverage of the 2020 election and playing an integral role on the team that worked to decide the next president. My previous position at the AP was as a desk editor and news supervisor. In that role, I worked with reporters on breaking and enterprise stories and served as the final editor before stories hit the wire. I managed the news report for the 10-state region during my supervisor shifts. I've also reported on and wrote breaking news, operated the region's social media account, worked with a group on metrics and analytics, and served as one of inaugural Top Stories fellows, working with the most talented AP editors around the U.S. on the world's biggest stories. My journalistic interests and goals are based around accountability reporting, economic inequality, race, populism and good old-fashioned fun news features. Previous gigs include: city editor for Metro Philadelphia newspaper, political reporter for NJ.com, reporter and editor at AOL and longtime freelancer for South Jersey Magazine and its sister publications.

Listed skills include Newspaper, Copy Editing, Feature Articles, Ap Style, and 27 others.
