Our Mission: City Schoolhouse works to strengthen children and families by empowering them through active and individualized education, fostering a love of learning, and renewing their community through its people. Our Vision: Where boundless learning is walkable.City Schoolhouse is a neighborhood microschool where students come from a walking distance away to learn academic, social, and practical life skills. Class sizes range from 10-15 students with two teachers. We teach in developmental age groups and our teaching is inspired by successful Montessori teaching techniques as well as other best practices for hands on learning. We incorporate day to day practical living skills that our students often do not learn at home in our daily curriculum. We use a pay-what-you-can model for tuition which eliminates barriers to entry.

Culver City, California

Preschool co-operative with heavy emphasis on sensory exploration, literacy, gross motor development and fine motor work. Here we not only built explorers but community with families as well. Our summer camps included family oriented field trips and parents rotated to assist in classrooms as well. At Poole Preschool Co-op we learn through fun and engaging experiences.

Initiated and developed partnerships with both the public and private sectors to enhance the programming and services for at-risk youth in Bexar County. Developed a faith based mentoring program for teen moms Trained staff and volunteers in how we treat and interact with adjudicated youth while they are on property completing community service hours. Empowered employees by encouraging open communication and creating an environment where they knew their ideas and observations were valuable to the success of our programs.

Kentucky 4Th Congressional District

Worked as a representative for the Congressman while he was in DC; attending public and private sector meetings, listening to funding requests, sharing constituent communications with the Congressman on a weekly basis. Replicated and led the Congressional Leadership Program in the Western portion of the District -- developed unique hands on learning experiences for college aged students. Topics included: Economic Development, Communications, Agri-Tourism, the Value of Energy Development and Manufacturing in the 4th, and Education.Managed Army Corp of Engineers Casework Worked with Non-Profits regarding the federal grant process
