Interns engage in a variety of residential life, organizational, and leadership roles that test and grow their skills and their perceptions of themselves and others. Interns spend most of their time involved in program activities on campus and within the New York City community. Interns work in both residential and student services capacities to support and advocate for the students in Columbia University's Summer Immersion Program. Interns help provide for students' cultural experience and safety, as well as self-management and university life in the United States.

A division of the Office of Admissions & Records, the University Ambassadors are a dedicated group of students who play an integral role in the university’s recruitment efforts. Through a variety of programs, University Ambassadors assist prospective students throughout all aspects of their college search and application process. They provide university and admissions related information, share personal experiences, and make connections that create a positive first impression of Florida State University. An Ambassador’s goal is to build relationships between students, their parents and the university community throughout each interaction to leave a lasting impression.

Resident Assistants (RAs) are paraprofessionals who live and work in the residence halls. They work with Residence Coordinators/Hall Directors/Assistant Coordinators and other University Housing staff members to develop programs and provide services for students. Each RA assumes responsibility for approximately fifty (50) students. RAs usually live on the same floor as their assigned residents. RAs are carefully selected for their academic proficiency, extracurricular involvement, concern for the welfare of fellow students, and ability to cope with the demands of their role. They are trained to be sensitive to the academic, emotional, and social challenges facing college students, particularly those involved with the normal adjustments to residence hall living.
