Profile bio

About Christina Ravinet

I am a science educator, with my own background being in Biology and specifically Ecology. I achieved my Qualified Teaching Status in 2016 and subsequently gained two years of experience as a Secondary Biology teacher in a comprehensive school in Norwich. Having decided to leave formal education, I took up a position as Education Officer (maternity cover) at the British Ecological Society (BES) in February 2019. Significant achievements in my role included the organisation and delivery of the BES Undergraduate Summer School, the development of a new schools outreach project, and assisting in the delivery of the Incredible Creatures feature exhibit at New Scientist Live 2019. Skills gained as a teacher - such as time management, managing workload, and communicating with others - were invaluable in my success in this role. I also developed a number of new skills including budget management, strategic planning and event organisation. I have recently begun a new position as Science Education Officer at the Francis Crick Institute, in which I will be delivering science outreach sessions to primary school pupils.

Listed skills include Research, Ecology, Microsoft Office, Science, and 21 others.
