ice&fire was founded by Sonja Linden in 2003 and explores human rights stories through performance. We are the only theatre company in the UK that places current human rights themes at the centre of all of our work. Our unique Actors for Human Rights network is perhaps our most well known project, converting grassroots activism on human rights themes into an artistic movement. In all of our work, we aim to foreground and provide a platform for marginalised voices, from migrants, refugees and asylum seekers both here and abroad, to British citizens struggling with issues around inequality and poverty. We have worked closely with leading human rights organisations (such as Reprieve, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, War Child) and have been recognised by the Liberty Human Rights Award in 2011 for our contribution to building a human rights culture in the UK.www.iceandfire.co.ukI am responsible for the overall vision and financial viability of ice&fire and oversee the development and delivery of the company's schedule of work. I have written numerous plays for ice&fire and also delivered multiple participatory and outreach projects. I am also an OISC accredited (Level 2) Immigration Adviser and work part-time at Afghan Association Paiwand which offers free immigration advice and casework.
