Leads strategic planning efforts and monitors organizational performance through facilitation of action plans, scorecard metrics, and related initiatives to drive continuous improvement. Works to understand the climate and pulse of the IPF division and serves as a sounding board for the Vice President, providing advice and guidance in support of the mission, vision, values, and organizational objectives. As an integral member of senior leadership, recognizes internal & external communication opportunities to increase the visibility of the organization across key stakeholder audiences thereby building and maintaining relationships with campus partners. Oversees Support Service functions including Finance, Data, Capital Project Accounting, Material & Logistics, Safety, Communications, Learning & Development, and IT; engaged in budgeting, financial planning and forecasting activities; and engages in other special projects such as the implementation of Planon (MSU's integrated work management system) and the establishment of the new Real Estate Office.

Provided leadership to a number of special projects and campus-wide initiatives that support a culture of high performance to support employee engagement & innovation including the implementation of InsideMSU and MSU Ideas. Implemented creative approaches to support key strategic initiatives and worked to improve operational processes to maximize business effectiveness. Oversaw operational and personnel activities within the Executive Vice President’s portfolio and directly managed and coordinated all Board of Trustee ‘Budget and Finance’ and ‘Audit, Risk, and Compliance’ Committee activity. Served as the University’s liaison and landlord to Spartan Child Development Center and Advisor and Ex-Officio to the Women's Advisory Committee for Support Staff.

Served as Budget Officer having direct management of several central administrative accounts totaling over $200M. Led and participated in a number of special projects and university-wide task forces working to continuously streamline and advance operational activities. Played a key role in coordinating and overseeing all materials for the Board of Trustees Finance and Audit committees. Served as University Liaison and Board Vice President to Spartan Child Development Center and Advisor to the Women's Advisory Committee for Support Staff.

Managed a $14 million budget in support of 14 major administrative departments including Human Resources, Physical Plant, Police and Public Safety, Campus Planning and Administration, Athletics, Internal Audit, Land Management, Office of Planning and Budgets, University Physician, Housing and Food Services, Environmental Safety, Affirmative Action, Compliance and Monitoring, Libraries, Computing and Technology, and the Controller. Oversaw activity and processed reallocations in over 45 general and non-general fund accounts.Worked closely with the Office of the President and Secretary to the Board of Trustees to prepare resolutions, agendas, reports, and presentations on behalf of the Finance and Audit Committee. Oversaw all aspects of department’s human resources including personnel actions and supervision. Facilitated a $1.4 million office renovation which has served as a model for innovative and efficient space design for the university.

Provided Executive Support to the Assistant Vice President & Vice President for Finance & Operations. Developed tool to manage multi-million dollar budget reductions for all units reporting to the Vice President; served as liaison and coordinator for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) certification for MSU; coordinated and compiled annual budgetary requests and plans from 13 Assistant Vice Presidential operating units including Police, Athletics, Housing, HR, and more; developed communications and presentations to University Deans, Board of Trustees, upper administration, and external constituents.

Conducted compensation and classification research and analysis; created salary surveys, research tools, and transactional forms; processed reclassifications; maintained university-wide classification descriptions and multiple databases used for data analysis and year-end reporting; led efforts to enhance the all-university employee orientation program; created recruiting brochures, materials and various presentations.
