This award was given to our Coalition because of our steadfast work in defending local smoke-free regulations throughout West Virginia. 2017 - Recipient of Media Advocacy Campaign of the Year - a national award for our WV team recognizing our work on a statewide Sugary Drink tax campaign. 2017 - Recipient of the Local Control Defender Award - presented by American's for Non-Smokers Rights to the Coalition for a Tobacco-Free WV, (I am a lead Steering Committee member). This award was given to our Coalition because of our steadfast work in defending local smoke-free regulations throughout West Virginia. 2016 - Recipient of the Campaign Manager of the Year - a national award recognizing my achievements in statewide policy changes passed in West Virginia in 2015/2016. 2016 - Recipient of the Rome Betts award - a national award for excellence in achievement in advocacy initiatives. 2016 - passage of Stroke Systems of Care (facility designation) and a .65 cent increase in the state's tobacco tax. 2015 - passage of CPR in Schools in WV and Shared Use Limited Liability Protection laws. GRA All-Staff recognition award winner for Excellence in Advocacy in both 2015 and 2016. Successfully implemented strategic campaign plans based on the assessment of the American Heart Association's goal gap analysis and other state and federal public health policy assessments. Worked with partner organizations to implement and support efforts across multiple platforms and form new alliances and access common goals.
