Manages the development and engineering of energy performance contracting solutions in the Midwest Region. This includes the business development, financial analysis and project coordination during the proposal and detailed investment-grade audit project phases. She also oversees coordination of engineering, construction, measurement and verification, and administrative staff to produce proposal and audit documents and complete detailed utility audits. She works closely with the regional sales manager and account executives to present customized solutions to our customers. She is responsible for analyzing building operations and maintenance practices, building automation systems, and developing cost-effective suggestions for improvement of energy efficiency; developing cost savings ECMs with calculated energy savings, project scope, development of project schedules, and coordinating the contractor and supplier bid process and pricing.

Developed and generated over $300M of investment grade project development proposals and over $600M of preliminary phase project proposals. Integral part of management team strategy development for competitive proposal responses and project development. Manage public sector, private sector, and federal sector engineering efforts in the Region. Review technical proposals and engineering calculations for all projects in the Midwest. Create, review, and edit performance contracting reports, customer presentations and executive summaries; including financial analyses and investment metrics for all projects in the 12-state Midwest Region. Responsible for QA/QC of all engineering-related outputs for the Region. Coordinate resources to support projects throughout the Region, coordinating with Sales and Development departments to ensure efficient project development.

Developed and wrote $36.6M of investment grade project development proposals and $13.5M of preliminary phase project development proposals. Reviewed technical proposals and engineering calculations for 75 percent of projects. Created engineering tools, procedures, training materials and on-going training staff training program to improve project throughput and quality; including training of six new hires and leading process improvement team for the Midwest Region. Managed 8 projects comprised of 39 buildings and 3.9 MSF of building space; several large scale projects with 9-13 buildings and a total of 2.5 MSF. Able to work either leading a team or independently, depending on requirements of project and personnel availability. Created performance contracting reports; including financial analyses and investment metrics. Developed continuous improvement protocol for day-to-day operations, including new-hire training, project summary, and bi-weekly team progress reporting.

Founded Pyramid Energy Group (PEG), an energy management consultancy based in Illinois, to address energy needs of companies and organizations, and focus on personal engineering interests including ventilation systems design, detailed computational thermal modeling, building performance analysis, and indoor environmental quality studies. Performed Phase I and Phase II energy assessments, building performance and benchmark modeling, thermal and energy analysis of solar films, and moisture transfer modeling for a variety of clients, including energy service companies, schools and universities, demand-response companies, and industry. Completed Phase I and investment grade energy management assessments for schools, universities, office buildings, municipalities, and mental health facilities in Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Missouri for energy services companies, real estate investment trusts, and private corporations interested in reducing their overall energy budget and/or carbon footprint.PEG offered energy management solutions that increase profitability for clients in the commercial, institutional and industrial markets. PEG accomplished this by providing the following services: demand-side energy conservation opportunity assessments including economic evaluation of “greening” strategies, supply-side energy purchasing opportunity assessments, and building/building system performance analysis.

The SWAN Biomass Company, a privately held firm, is a licensor of technology for the conversion of carbohydrates in biomass to fuel ethanol and other fuels and chemicals. Oversaw the project management, engineering review, and permitting of the first commercial cellulosic ethanol facility in the United States. Managed projects in multiple states and coordinated subcontractors in developing cellulosic ethanol production facilities in the United States; both at a pilot and commercial scale. Assessed and organized grant solicitations for state and federal programs relating to renewable and alternative fuels for projects. Reviewed engineering design drawings and documentation, liaised with engineering firms, government representatives, and local agencies to ensure optimal operation and economics. Acted as technical representative for permitting application meetings in California. Commissioned the Biomass Conversion Center of Excellence in Pennsylvania and directed principal research initiatives.

BlueStar Energy is an alternative electric retail supplier; selling electricity in Illinois, Maryland and the District of Columbia and facilitating demand side management programming for its existing client base. Expanded and enhanced the demand side program for BlueStar, overhauled existing plan, allowing program to grow and service customer base more efficiently and effectively. Streamlined the evaluation of projects for potential new clients, allowing for the quicker analysis of demand side savings potential, resulting in more effective sales presentations and increased number of potential program clients and project installations. Managed sales training, project initiation, project development, economic evaluation of projects, project coordination, and project implementation.

The ERC was established as an energy policy think tank and research organization, but has evolved into a team of practical energy experts capable of quickly extending technical expertise, advice and professional assistance to all market sectors. The mission of the ERC is to increase energy efficiency across all markets, regenerate the Illinois manufacturing base, and improve the environment.Managed and led research projects in the areas of building sciences and energy management, with focus on the residential and commercial sector for the National Center for Energy Management and Building Technology. Managed & executed research projects for the building sciences group, including high performance building envelope systems, filtration, and ventilation systems through use of building simulation software and monitoring. Managed, led and supported over 100 industrial, institutional and residential energy assessments. Developed energy efficiency training presentations for new hires and student interns. Managed energy management projects for industrial and institutional markets with both short and long-term timelines. Performed whole building simulations of small and large scale buildings. Participated in design review of mechanical and new technology systems. Evaluated feasibility of new technology implementation.
