 Play a key role in setting up both clinics (set up database, documentation, stocks, liaise with other foundations, fund raise, assist in planning outreach exercises and clinics). Responsible for the island’s nursing care of police and fire officers. Provide care to patients mainly in the clinic, but not limited to home or in-hospital care.

The registered nurse for the island of Tobago for TTPS currently serving police and fire service members in branches in Shirvan and Roxoborough.

 Provided both direct care in the practice and tele medical care via phone and email.  Communicated patient care with specialists via database, email or phone.  Assisted physicians in general, dermatological and gynaecological procedures. Administered medications (vaccines, birth control, etc.) and other nursing procedures.

 Provided care in the Admissions department for up to 12 psychiatric patients.  Provided clinical care for outpatients for over 200 patients (in facility, White and Yellow Cross & Turing Point, or from the surrounding islands - St. Barts, Saba and St. Eustatius).  Planned and assisted in awareness events (Family Support Group, Happiness Event, World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day & Hikes).

 Provided direct quality care for palliative, post-surgical, rehabilitative care, continuing care and geriatric care.  Duties included total patient care (urinary catheterizations, wound care, educating and supporting patients with conditions such as chronic kidney disease), assisting doctors and physiotherapist; training staff; supervising patient care trainees and volunteers.

In the following areas: Community, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Medical, Surgical, Accident and Emergency, Main Operating Theatre, Psychiatric, Gynaecology, Gerontology, Oncology and Outpatient clinics.  Provided Total Patient Care for an average of 4 to 5 patients per shift. Completed ward reports (e.g. ward report, dietary assignments, ward classifications, dispositions, ward checks (e.g. crash cart, controlled and dangerous drug reports). Communicated with interdisciplinary team (dietitian, speech therapist, etc.) and external departments such as purchasing, biometrics, morgue, housekeeping and pharmacy.

In the following areas Neurosurgery, Ears Nose Throat (ENT), Eyes & Orthopaedic. Provided care to an average of 2-3patients per shift. Accompanied patients to procedures and further diagnostic examinations. Provided speciality care such as ventilation and endotracheal suctioning in ENT, pre and post op care in orthopaedics, as well as focused assessment testing in eyes and GCS monitoring in neurology.
