Christine's passion is to support young people to be the very best they can be. She has over twenty-five years of experience as an English teacher, school leader and consultant at primary and secondary level. Christine has also led creative and successful initiatives at a range of educational institutions, including secondary schools in London and the North East, sixth form colleges, primary and special schools. Since 2013, as Director of Everything English Education, Christine has successfully delivered English and literacy based consultancy services across the UK.Christine is Chief Executive Officer of Building Self-Belief CIO, a charity founded in 2018, which gives vulnerable young people in socio-economically deprived areas the opportunity to take part in team building, arts, careers based and emotional well-being programmes. She advocates that in intervening early and building self-belief, you can prevent the development of mental health issues.Christine was on the management committee of the National Association of Teachers of English (NATE). In her capacity as Regional Activities Officer at NATE she was responsible for overseeing and supporting NATE events in schools across the UK. Christine has also delivered highly successful workshops NATE’s National Conference for the last 5 years.Her articles have been published by the National Literacy Trust, English Matters Magazine and Secondary English Magazine. Christine also writes literature unit summaries for ‘GCSE Pod’.Christine also does a great deal of voluntary work in the community. She is Chair of the Say No to Consett Incinerator campaign, working with her community to stop an incinerator from being built in the centre of the town. This included press and TV interviews, blogs, report writing, collaboration with environmental groups and 9 day Appeal, where the group had Rule 6 status against the appellants barristers. This has led to the creation of the Consett Area Neighbourhood Forum, and Christine is Chair of this - the long term aim is to create a Neighbourhood Plan for the town of Consett.If you need support, please get in touch!
