After a successful 15+ year career in for-profit and corporate Sales and Marketing leadership roles, I made the career shift to revenue-generating roles in the non-profit space. I've dedicated the last decade to Fundraising as a discipline, specifically concentrating on the Performing Arts in Houston, Texas – a lifelong passion, in a city I love. I have served as the Director of Development for the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, a Development Officer at Houston Grand Opera, Major Gifts Officer and Director, Individual Giving at the Houston Symphony, Director of Development at Theatre Under The Stars, and now back at the Houston Symphony first as Director of Major Gifts and now as Senior Director of Development. Together with a team of 15 talented fundraisers, we are responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors to generate nearly $20MM in contributed revenue this upcoming fiscal. Our work includes fundraising $9.8MM for the Annual Fund, that supports not only our concert schedule but also our innovative education and artistic initiatives, and raising $10MM for the Endowment that ensures the sustainability of the Symphony for generations to come. My team is also responsible for managing the Symphony’s Planned Giving program which was formerly the primary vehicle for Endowment growth and currently has more than $50MM in commitments.I am a life-long learner, an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and hold the Certified Fund Raising Executive, CFRE. I earned the CFRE credential in November 2018 and encourage all fundraisers to go through the rigorous process of pursuing this designation. I also maintain the SHRM-CP designation. I serve the AFP-GHC as a Board Member At-Large and Chair of the Scholarship Committee and have previously served as Volunteer Co-chair for the AFP Houston annual Ask the Experts Conference and coached the quarterly AFP Houston CFRE prep course. I am also a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar and am excited about helping Houstonians register to vote.
