As a Law Enforcement Advocate at Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center (BVAC), I provide information and assistance to police officers and victims of domestic violence. I meet with victims on scene, at the police department, or at the hospital, and offer them hospital and court accompaniment, referrals to additional services, and reports and statistics. I also assist with training programs for police officers, community members, and other agencies on domestic violence issues, and represent the agency at various events and meetings.I obtained a Masters of Science in Forensic Psychology degree at Arizona State University, where I learned about the psychological aspects of crime, justice, and law. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Rhode Island, and a certification from the Citizen's Police Academy. I have also worked as a Bilingual Office Manager and a Customer Service Specialist, where I gained valuable skills in communication, administration, and customer support. I am passionate about helping victims of violent crimes and improving the law enforcement response to domestic violence. I am a versatile and resourceful professional who can adapt to different situations and environments, and anticipate the needs of management and clients.
