As president of Carnival Cruise Line, the flagship brand of Carnival Corp., the world’s largest leisure travel company, Christine leads a fleet of 30 ships, sailing 6+ million guests annually and employing 51,000+ people from 120 nations. Christine has served in this role since 2015 after a successful tenure as president and CEO of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), which represents the $120 billion global cruise industry. Under her leadership, Carnival was the first major U.S. cruise line to have its entire fleet back in operations after the industry-wide pause related to the pandemic. Since 2022, the company is in a rapid growth phase, acquiring 5 additional ships in an 18-month period, continuing with a 4th and 5th Excel class ship debuting in 2027 and 2028. The company is also designing its next innovative ship class, with three new vessels set to launch in 2029, 2031 and 2033.Christine is also overseeing the development of Celebration Key, Carnival’s exclusive destination in The Bahamas, debuting next July. She has led the introduction of 8 ships, including Carnival Jubilee; Carnival Celebration; and Mardi Gras. These Excel class ships are leading the introduction of liquefied natural gas (LNG) cruise vessels in North America and feature the first roller coasters at sea. She’s also led the introduction of Carnival Venezia and Carnival Firenze, two ships that showcase new “Carnival Fun Italian Style” experiences.Her “people first” business philosophy makes her an accessible and approachable leader as Carnival leverages its commitment to delivering safe, fun and memorable vacations to its millions of guests and growing customer base.Prior to CLIA, she was president and CEO of Maritz Travel Company, the world’s largest corporate meeting, events and incentive travel company.She served as chair of the U.S. Travel Association. She was recently re-appointed to the United States Travel and Tourism Advisory Board. She received CLIA’s Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the cruise industry. She is a member of the BOD of Aimbridge Hospitality and Herschend Family Entertainment, the nation’s largest family-owned operator of themed attractions. She sits on the Professional Advisory Board of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital of which Carnival is the official celebration partner. She has been a strong supporter of women’s leadership in the travel industry, leading initiatives that delivered research and programs to help women advance their careers.
