At Horizon Group USA, where I lead a team as Senior Merchandising Director, we’re known for bringing toys, activity kits, and other fashion-forward consumer products to market that inspire kids, tweens, and teens to embrace their imaginations and learn new skills through play. I’m especially proud of our commitment to introducing high quality products in major retailers like Target, Wal-Mart, Michael’s, Costco and Tesco with a focus on diversity and inclusivity. In my current role I focus on our Tween business, working closely with leadership across Product Development, Merchandising, and Marketing, as well as with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and China, to increase our reach and overcome logistical, process, and compliance hurdles to ensure we meet ship dates and customer needs.One of my favorite aspects of my work is being hands-on throughout the product development lifecycle. It’s so rewarding to see a product through from concept to shelf, and then to see how it’s received by customers—not only through strong sales, but through direct feedback and positive social media comments from consumers.Through multiple promotions and positions of expanding scope—I’ve served in the roles of Product Manager and Senior Brand Manager among others—I’ve had the valuable opportunity to see the business from a variety of vantage points, which has helped me provide steady guidance for my team through changes, including reorganizations and the pandemic.
