About Christine Fugate

Christine Fugate is an award-winning producer and director whose work has been screened in theaters and broadcast on channels around the world. She has produced and written programming for networks including HBO, Discovery, VH1, Disney, A&E, Sundance, Travel Channel and PBS. Fugate specializes in filming overseas, specifically in the unscripted genre. This year, she filmed in Malawi where subjects and locations had to be found on the ground. She has also spent time filming in Fiji, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Before working in unscripted, Fugate spent a year producing and directing in the Thai feature film industry. She went on to work at Schroeder/Hoffman Productions at Sony Pictures and as Senior VP of Creative Affairs at Pacific Rim Productions at Warner Brothers Hollywood. She has screened her films at the Museum of Modern Art, on board Air Force for President Clinton, and in theaters around the country, earning the title of a Showbiz’s Top 100 Box Office Director. When not producing, she writes on assignment for several travel publications and teaches film production and development at Chapman University.
