As adjunct faculty teaching online courses in the human services discipline, I provide course instruction and facilitation at the Harrison Education Center. Current approved courses include Introduction to Human Services and Theories & Skills. I utilize current literature and other reliable materials as well as real world experiences in course instruction.

As an online instructor, I provide course instruction and facilitation for undergraduate classes. Current approved courses include nonprofit/human services management, mental health and crisis intervention, research and statistics, technology in human services and information systems and technology in human services. I utilize current literature and other reliable materials as well as real world experiences in course instruction.

My role as Executive Director involved building and maintaining strategic partnerships, ensuring comprehensive service delivery and overall agency operations. I worked closely with the Board of Directors to ensure mission fulfillment and compliance and had the privilege of supervising a remarkable staff that worked tirelessly to provide trauma informed services to our community.

As the VP of Development & Operations I was responsible for agency fundraising efforts, including grants and special events. I supervised staff and volunteers, assisted with human resource and accounting functions, ensured compliance and strengthened existing community partnerships. I worked with the President/CEO to ensure efficiency in daily operations for staff and key stakeholders while maintaining quality services to clients.

As the first grants manager for St. Anthony's, my role focused on establishing the use of grants as a fundraising opportunity for the medical center. I coordinated grant opportunities with various departments and was responsible for preparing and submitting all grant proposals. My work included prospect research, preparing statistical and narrative reports to funders and ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and funder mandates.

My role as the Executive Director focused on streamlining programs and maintaining the agency's presence in the community as the only local domestic violence agency that partnered directly with the legal system. I was responsible for all fundraising, human resource and accounting responsibilities in addition to working with the Board of Directors on marketing and public relations efforts. During this time, the overall agency budget decreased by 30% each year while program support increased by 10% and client referrals tripled. In addition to streamlining existing services, I successfully prepared the agency, community stakeholders and staff for a merge. In 2012, the agency completed the planned merger with the Crime Victim Advocacy Center of St. Louis.

My position was a unique combination of direct service, program development and evaluation, staff supervision and fundraising. I was hired to manage and implement two programs under a federal grant and over the next two years, added two additional programs through funding I secured. Over the next few years, my role expanded to include additional fundraising activities, community education and awareness and staff development. I was responsible for training and supervising community volunteers and student interns, as well as a staff of eight. I served on the public relations committee of the board and was involved in numerous community partnerships.
