As a long-term innovation and business strategy leader – who has developed game-changing products, services, and business models for a variety of Fortune 500 insurance companies – my work is rooted in unlocking unforeseen opportunities/markets and getting there with efficiency. Whether it is developing market-disrupting services, inventing AI-driven knowledge management portals, or solving retention issues with family farm insurance clients, I am passionate about conducting in-depth customer/market research, decomposing problems into their constituent parts, and building/deploying novel solutions with speed. In fact, I am convinced that the difference between “good and great” is how companies innovate and the speed at which those ideas become a commercial reality.Innovation rarely materializes organically, but rather is the product of open, cognitively diverse, and curious cultures. Breakthrough thinking requires the connection of dots that are often not obvious, so having an internal climate where team members can comfortably advance unconventional ideas is key. While some voices are invariably louder than others, I take great care to give equal opportunity to all and amplify great ideas – regardless of their origin. Much of my career was spent developing software solutions – both operationally and strategically. With that, I am eager to push boundaries with technology, but equally sensitive to leverage user-centered design in building solutions that are additive to my customers’ lives. Emerging technologies bring with them both great power and responsibility. With that, I am careful to challenge software developers to use design, architecture, and business models that deliver customer value without disrupting privacy, security, or civil rights.
