After serving as Global Executive Director for 5 years and Kollaboration San Francisco Executive Director for 4 years, it's an honor to serve on the Board of Directors to further build the Kollaboration organization, brand, & impact on diversity & inclusion in media. Kollaboration is a non-profit organization focused on discovering, connecting, and elevating Asian Pacific Islander Desi American artists. Kollaboration unites and spotlights artists from diverse disciplines, including music, dance, comedy, film, and production, to propel the creation of truly diverse content. Through producing live events, such as showcases and conferences, as well as digital media, such as podcasts and videos, Kollaboration showcases the depth and breadth of talented Asian creatives to empower and improve the representation of the Asian diaspora in popular media. Board members support the work of Kollaboration and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance.

With nearly a decade of working in the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) artist discovery and development as well as APIDA coalition building, Minji Chang has become an expert in addressing diversity and inclusion strategy in mainstream media. Having gained invaluable insight as a community leader, organization head, and artist navigating the industry as an actor and writer herself, she has unique perspective that bridges grassroots community values and industry objectives. Over the course of her tenure in Kollaboration, Minji has traveled all around North America working directly with APIDA artists across creative genres (film, tv, music, dance, comedy, podcasts, literature) and with corporations, studios, and national non-profit organizations to develop and strategize promotion of their diversity programs. This includes Warner Bros, Comcast NBCUniversal, HBO, Pandora, SXSW, Sundance Film Festival, Rock The Vote, and more. She has been recognized for her leadership by the City of Los Angeles and has been invited to the White House under the Obama administration to contribute to the White House Initiative of Asian American Pacific Islanders. Kollaboration is a global platform to discover, empower, & connect AAPI artists and leaders to promote diversity representation in media. Kollaboration is an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization.As Executive Director of Kollaboration, I oversaw the programming, fundraising, & collaborative partnerships of the entire organization across North America. This included oversight of all Kollaboration city chapters, digital content creation, & public appearances. I expanded the Kollaboration programming outside the historic talent showcases to include networking opportunities and professional development. In 2015, Kollaboration launched the EMPOWER Creative Leadership Conference, a multi-day conference with panels, workshops, mentorship sessions, and networking/recruiting opportunities for Asian Americans professionals interested in working in the entertainment industry. Hundreds of AAPI artists & industry leaders have spoken at EMPOWER to inspire the next generation of creative professionals to impact a more diverse & inclusive industry.Kollaboration expanded partnership with key AAPI NPOs in arts, social justice, & professional leadership, such as: CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment), Visual Communications, CAAM (Center for Asian Americans in Media), Pacific Arts Movement, AAJA, NAAAP, AAPI Vote, White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Tuesday Night Project, Impact Hub, Austin Asian American Film Festival, A3 Foundation, & more.I also expanded Kollaboration's industry impact with events at notable national & international arts & culture events. Kollaboration became a lead partner for the Asian Pacific Filmmakers Experience at Sundance Film Festival, which we took to SXSW, LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival & Tribeca. Kollaboration hosted the first official AAPI-focused panel & music showcase at SXSW 2017. We were leaders of the 4 city IAmAsianAmerican 2016 concert to increase AAPI voter registration.
