I currently serve as a legal advisor in the Office of the Chief Counsel where my practice includes business/transactional agreements under the Space Act ("Space Act Agreements), procurement law, ethics, fiscal law, real property, and litigation. In this role, I provide legal guidance and counsel, representing agency stakeholders through review and negotiation of various types of large sum agreements with private industries, governments, and universities. I stay current by researching and reviewing federal sources of legal authorities, judicial and administrative decisions and rulings. I analyze risk to the agency balanced with mission needs and provide recommendations to further the agency objectives. I am the lead for the agency unmanned aerial system (UAS/drone) law team, where we explore and advise on fast-changing, intersecting legal issues.

I served as the principal attorney embedded with the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate reporting directly to the Associate Administrator, where I provided and coordinated high-level legal and strategic advice for the eleven divisions within the directorate and supporting centers, including the International Space Station, the Launch Services Program, Advanced Exploration Systems, Human Spaceflight Capabilities, Commercial Spaceflight Development, Exploration Systems, and Space Communications. My areas of legal support included procurement, commercial, export compliance, international and space law, fiscal, interagency agreements, litigation matters, ethics and regulatory matters.

I represented small business clients in a broad range of matters to help their businesses succeed; issues included employment, real estate, and agreements.I conducted pre-filing investigations and due diligence to identify risks and legal analysis for their businesses. I represented my clients in litigation through pleadings, dispositive motions (demurrer, oppositions, various other discovery motions, appellate briefs), and discovery. I have experience responding to/propounding discovery requests, and taking/defending depositions. I have conducted 2 bench trials as first chair.I reviewed and drafted various agreements and internal policies in order to minimize my client's risk exposures. I negotiated, advised, and represented clients in business transactions, mediations, and settlement conferences. I managed client relationships, developed local business relationships and conducted community legal presentations.Notable cases:Bui v. Hi-Tech Dental, Incorporated, Case No. H039310 (6th App. Dist.) (on a team which successfully represented Defendant and received a certified opinion from 6th District reversing private attorney fees award of $127K to plaintiff).

I served as a bar-certified law clerk and volunteer attorney. I gained valuable courtroom experience by conducting 12 supervised court appearances for preliminary hearings with related direct and cross-examinations of multiple witnesses, drafted and argued motions. I provided research support drafted memorandums for BAT team attorneys (for trials and various motions), including exhibits, reviewing jail calls and transcripts.As a summer law clerk, I drafted 2 misdemeanor appeal responses with two cases being affirmed on probation search and evasion of fare.

As a law clerk, I provided research support and memorandums to the in-house legal team in areas of corporate, business, real estate, and employment. I drafted and managed board minutes and resolutions, agreements, and contract amendments. I maintained all government filings, licenses, and leases for company branches and subsidiaries. I assisted with the legal work and translation for a Vietnam subsidiary.

I provided state and federal law research to the legal team on industry regulations, compliance and corporate practices for Akeena Solar, a solar energy company. I provided assistance with tracking federal policy on solar energy & technology through research, news, and industry associations. I drafted compliance advice and policy on related internal matters.

I served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Erica Yew with the Superior Court in Santa Clara County. I conducted legal research, reviewed cases, and drafted memorandums for Family Wellness Court hearings. I supported the Domestic Violence Resource Workshop through meetings, reports and research statistics.

I served as the District Lead for the House Appropriations Committee by reviewing and making recommendations on local funding requests. I tracked, reviewed, and clarified federal legislation for constituents and delivered information by organizing large-scale public town halls and special issue-based forums. I supported the member through drafting speeches, memos, and newsletters. I developed strategic relationships with community stakeholders, business leaders, and intergovernmental agencies to identify areas of concern and areas for consensus-building on federal policies. I served as a liaison between federal agencies and constituents.In my spare time, I created a professional association to develop relationships between legislative staffers in different areas of government in order to leverage our collective knowledge, advance our professional development, and continue to mentor interns to follow public service positions.

During college, I worked full time in a mortgage and real estate company wearing multiple hats. I handled sensitive financial information, created mortgage loan applications and compiled financial information to underwriters. I managed the front office and developed marketing materials and a referral program for 30+ real estate agents and earned my real estate license.
