• Assessing capital expenditure budgetary and reporting concerns to Director and VP of Engineering Operations • Providing technical, analytical and strategic support to the capital programs’ leadership team in budget development and management of financial results; this includes coordinating reporting for the programs’ leadership team.• Providing support for assigned departmental and capital program issues in regulatory proceedings, primarily the Phase I Distribution Tariff Application (DTA) and/or Performance Based Regulation (PBR) filings, and intervener Information Request (IR) processes.• Research, interpretation, and consolidation of information for filings and responses, and where applicable, ensuring consistency and alignment with responses from other Fortis departments and the Company’s overall regulatory strategy.• Planning, modeling, and forecasting annual budgets, providing variance analysis, current estimates, and growth forecasts as required.• Analyzing and interpreting New Connects Capital Program monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial results, and leading economic indicators.• Ensuring timely resolution of issues affecting project by providing recommendations to internal stakeholders while coordinating and negotiating changes with Managers, project sponsors, and budget owners.• Identifying, investigating, and pursuing opportunities to improve efficiency of the customer connection process; and implementing required improvements.• Distribution Control Centre – creating substation single line diagrams (SLDs) for SCADA throughout implementation of the Fortis Control Centre and making sure field drawings align with SCADA drawings using MATLAB• Data Analytics / Asset Health Index – co-lead Data Analytics project along with developing a risk based assessment for the distribution system assets using asset health index. Lead the research by conversing with different electric utilities and vendors across North America throughout the year.
