End to end accountable for the Information Technology components of the business areas I represent. Within Shell Trading Functions, these areas include: Finance, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Risk, Credit, Data Warehouse and Reporting, Market data, Contracts Management, and IT Functions. I am the focal point for new project requests and escalation of support issues. I also create and update the investment plans for the next 3-5 years in each of these areas, planning future spend and alignment with business strategy and IT roadmaps. Work closely with London teams to deliver results.Demand Management: for new project requests: I am responsible for eliciting and documenting the business case, gathering requirements, scoping, and creation of the project charters. I also steward the funding process which includes preparing and delivering presentations to senior leaders in the Trading business. Once funded, my involvement decreases as the delivery teams begin project execution. Work closely with Project and Program managers to ensure this agile program continues to provide IT solutions that allow us to meet the various rules and deadlines. I oversee investment of an annual demand budget of approx. $30M USD.Business Strategies and Roadmaps: work with business leaders to understand their near and long term strategies and align with architecture technology roadmaps, fostering partnerships between IT and the business. This allows us to forecast spend and manage costs. Heavily focused in our DoddFrank Regulatory and Compliance program as the IT focal point in a Senior Leader Steering Committee for these regulations. This area is especially challenging as the rules continue to evolve in a fast paced commodities trading environment. I also sponsor our Trading Business Analyst Network, help Shell recruit new talent at universities as an assessor, and mentor several employees in career development.

Manage incoming requests for IT project work for Gas & Power business requestors. Coordinate and facilitate prioritization of demand requests based on business case and benefits. Assign Business Analysts to perform initial assessments including writing project charter, estimates, and functional reviews and signoffs with respective areas in support of our project delivery framework for project delivery. Review project charters in preparation for the IT Functional Review and Funding Board Review. Responsible for all IT project requests up to point of approval of rejection. If approved, hand-off to Project Manager for execution.Manage stakeholder expectations and competing priorities with senior management. Ensure new requests for applications are not in conflict with IT roadmaps; interact with solution architects for alignment.Manage a team of 13 business analysts, including resource management and planning for assignment to projects, performance reviews, and career development activities.Serve as the Trading Core Business Analyst Excellence Leader representing Business Analyst Career Development needs for Trading within Shell, as well as participation in strategic career development initiatives for progression of the Business Analyst Career path.

Manage incoming demand requests for project work in the Oil & Shipping North America portfolio, including initial assessment, create project charter, perform benefits analysis, create preliminary estimates, write business background, document scope and high level requirements. Prepare presentations for review by project governance committees. Handover to Project Managers once approved. Manage small projects as necessary from initiation through implementation and closeout. Leading a team of Business Analysts on various work efforts in relation to Global Oil Apps for the Trading Company. Activities span from requirements gathering and analysis, solution assessment, run & maintain support work, managing projects, stakeholder engagement and relationship management. Project Manager and Business Analyst for a project implementing dual currency (USD and CAD) in Trading's suite of products applications, including deal entry, scheduling, risk management, accounting settlement, and financial reporting and reconciliation.
