I successfully led on multi-customer tactical projects across Europe at all stages of project planning, design, and production. This included working with the European and New Zealand teams to develop and improve industry sector strategies. In addition, I provided strategic advice on the development of scalable and fundable operating models for NZTE’s Service Offerings internationally.

I supported New Zealand companies in the Healthcare and the Creative space who are interested in expanding into Germany and Western Europe. This entailed doing market analysis and building networks, support them taking part in clinical studies and advising them on European standards and regulations. I also project managed the organisation of workshops around the topic „Better by Procurement“ – B2B and G2B tenders in Europe as well as internal work on customer portfolios, best practice, regional operations and market reports.

I was the acting trade representative for the IMEA region in New Zealand providing business advisory support to the Regional Director which included managing key projects such as ministerial missions and business delegations. For instance, I was the New Zealand based project lead for a ministerial mission to Sri Lanka and India leveraging the Cricket World Cup 2015. Other responsibilities included: building networks with international trade bodies, input and preparation of reports and strategy papers relating to the IMEA region for the Lead Team, the Board and Ministers, draft ministerial responses, briefing papers and responses to parliamentary questions.

My main responsibility was to help New Zealand businesses establish and grow in continental Europe by providing market insight, consultancy advice and proposing strategies that result in the desired growth and internationalisation. I was working closely with a portfolio of New Zealand companies (mainly in the Agribusiness and Food & Beverage sector) to achieve their European growth targets by managing the delivery of business development activities across Eastern Europe and Russia. For example, I project managed several wine tasting events in Poland and Russia leading to New Zealand wine companies signing up distribution agreements in the region. Moreover, as part of a multi-customer programme in the Agribusiness sector I led all in-market activities for Russia which included doing market analysis, setting up a network of experts, find distribution partners and project managing business delegations from New Zealand to Russia.

My main task was to develop a customer loyalty programme that can be used by independent organic retailers. In particular, I was involved in the conceptual phase of the project as well as in liaising with advertising and data mining agencies. Part of this role was also to undertake international research studies in the Food & Beverage sector.
