Founded as a creative response to the dearth of opportunities for Asian American musical theatre artists and the assumption by many in the industry that we do not exist -- we aim to raise our visibility, nurture our community and make great music together. Members of our core group have collectively been a part of over 40 Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, have MFAs from top arts programs, and are members of BMI and the Dramatists Guild Fellows Program. Our first concert was held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 8 p.m. at the Signature Theatre in NYC (sponsored by the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee of Actors' Equity Association and produced by ReImagined World Entertainment, with grant support from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund.) We received additional grants from MCAF and the Puffin Foundation in 2014 to develop and present our collectively written song cycle, "Arriving in Asian America", in NYC at Symphony Space.
